I think it’s different from those in that it’s not particularly indie in scale or sensibility, and is built around an old-school movie-star turn by a big name.

Just saw ROOFMAN: there was a time when you could go to the multiplex any weekend and see something straightforwardly grownup with this much comfy storytelling nous and easy-breezy star power, but now it feels like something rare, which gets it sized up as a prestige item, which isn’t quite right.

I personally think press screening access for a film festival that charges a £52 accreditation fee shouldn’t be a lottery situation, but that’s me.
