Instead of answering the question, Schuldig asked his own. "Who sent you?"

He fully expected this was the night he would die. But after a moment a little tension fell off, and he took a deep sip of his drink, trying to make peace with the thought.

The soul the eyes would have found was equally dark, but human. A deep pool of emotion, numbed down with alcohol and pain killers. Scars of torture, but not all his own.

And he was alert, his legs so tense that he could jump or run at any moment. But he tried to mask how he felt. >

"Thanks for the drink," Schuldig mumbled, in a deep but soft voice, using his lips to speak this time.

As nice as it was to have his drink refilled, Schuldig immediately tensed up. People don't do magic just like that. The only context in which he had seen this kind of power was... way back, when he was trained. Some form of telekinesis, apparently.

Shit, too obvious, he scolded himself mentally. He opened his blue eyes a little wider, acting like he had just been pulled out from thoughts - not far from reality anyway. A little nod went to the stranger, and he raised his half-empty glass in a greeting.

Having hailed the bartender, he ordered a glass of red wine. While waiting for it, he felt eyes on him as he leaned coolly against the bar. Looking around, he noticed the stranger and flicked a hand in greeting. He had nothing to hide.
