I’m proud of how my community prepared. LA School District will give free supper to anyone 18 & under. My Mom’s group organized ”sponsors” for families losing benefits. My Buy Nothing group organized fruit distribution from backyard trees. It’s great community building but shouldn’t have to happen.

I wanted to DM this but can’t. I found Hope Edelman’s book “Motherless Daughters“ immensely helpful. Mom has been gone 30 years but I still go back to this book from time to time and find immense comfort as I go through new milestones Mom can’t share. Perhaps it will be a support for you too.

The California prison system claims it doesn't hold prisoners to coordinate with ICE. However, CDCR delayed Kelvin's release by nearly 3 weeks once ICE notified them they wished to detain him.
