i have successfully replaced the belts on my 20 year old cassette deck and am currently listening to some 2-step/UK garage tracks i made in fasttracker II, back in 1999(!)

i struggle with this. one thing that i've been trying to track lately is, who do i actually interact with? of those people, who would i want to email or text to discuss our shared interests? that list is really short, it turns out, but it's a start towards what post-social media could look like

what was great was, no one where i was living had any interest in the mellow or melodic stuff. there were precious few dnb djs in the states at the time and those who were shopping the same place i did were after the crowd pleasing tunes, which left all the atmospheric stuff for me
