I don’t mean this post to be virtue signaling even though it probably comes off that way. I was a moment that brought me some hope and joy to offer more than the bare minimum in a time that feels very hopeless to people that clearly need it more than me.

I gave them the biggest bill in my wallet. I’ve never done this before. It was empowering to know I actually can do something to make a difference in my orbit. I don’t think I changed their life but I might have provided some relief for today or a week.

So my mom passed away in March. She had dementia.
