This is a devastating blow to patients nationwide and will have immediate harmful consequences. This isn’t over. Everyone deserves access to the health care they need by their trusted provider. Care continues @ppsne.bsky.social including patients with Medicaid in CT and RI. We’ll keep fighting!

A federal court allowed the “defund” provision targeting Planned Parenthood health centers to take effect. What does this mean? Patients cannot use Medicaid to pay for their care at Planned Parenthood health centers.

Thank you to all who came out last night for our End of Summer Happy Hour, including our legislative champions Senator Tiara Mack and Rep. Karen Alzate, to hear about what "defunding" Planned Parenthood means for patients access to care in Rhode Island!
Group of people sitting and kneeling outdoors, some holding signs that read "I Fight for Medicaid" and "I Fight For Planned Parenthood". They are smiling and posing for a photo at an event. A group of people attending an outdoor event under yellow shade sails, with one person standing and speaking to the seated participants. Three individuals stand together outdoors, smiling and holding a sign that reads "I FIGHT FOR MEDICAID." One is wearing a blue suit, another in a white dress, and the third in a pink T-shirt that says "I FIGHT FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD." They are in a space with brick walls and string lights above. An outdoor gathering with people seated around a table, intently listening to a speaker standing at the head of the table under canopy shades, at dusk.

Interfering with people’s healthcare means risking their lives.

This is yet another mean-spirited attack on women, LGBTQ+ individuals, communities of color, low-income patients, and providers.

The State of Connecticut will not be a tool for this Administration’s unlawful agenda.

We’ve faced attacks like this before. While the Trump Administration and Congress try to shut down Planned Parenthood, care continues. We’ll do everything we can to show up for patients and the communities Planned Parenthood health centers serve — no matter what.

🚨Today, Congressional Republicans passed a devastating and cruel bill to "defund" Planned Parenthood.🚨

This is a targeted attack that puts nearly 200 Planned Parenthood health centers at risk of closure and blocks 1.1 million patients from getting health care.

The Senate just voted to take away your health care and “defund” Planned Parenthood. It's a political attack that could shut down nearly 200 health centers and strip abortion access for everyone, everywhere.

Make no mistake, Planned Parenthood will never stop fighting to protect access to care.

Today, contraceptive access is threatened by lawmakers seeking to undermine reproductive freedom.
