Since we’re posting more regularly here and it’s a new platform I figured we should introduce ourselves.

This is Gary. He’s an 11-year old domestic longhair cat and together we adventure around western Canada, mostly in the Rocky Mountains.

Gary recently met Hugo, one of the stars of the Disney film Togo.

Hugo was very excited to meet Gary. Gary was not so excited to meet him.

How it started vs how it’s going.

The left was Gary at about 1 year old and the right is Gary today. Still floofy!

Duke was the first dog I’d ever lived with and I’m lucky to have had him as my friend.
November 20, 2025 at 5:37 PM
He saw a lot of mountain adventures for a dog that was born on the East coast.

Though he’d probably have been ok to have fewer of them, preferring naps and snacks to long hikes.

Duke is the reason we have Gary. Gary had the same injury at the same age as Duke and they both had their left femoral head removed.
November 20, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Last week we had to say goodbye to Duke. 14 years doesn’t feel like nearly enough.

He was a very good boy and I miss him terribly.
