Been DM-ing a DnD 5e group for a bit, there's something great about putting the players in a situation and just watching the player discussion carry itself for a while as they debate how to approach both in-character and out.

Considering I originally went into it as a bit of a warm-up, I'm really happy with the progress we made! Definitely some lessons learned as well, and some things I'll carry forward to the jam next month.

Blegh, think we're missing the game jam deadline. Ran into a few roadbumps that've just stopped us getting it over the finish line.

Still, been a fun project to work on, and I don't think we're done with it yet. I'd still like to release it, just with some extra time to finish it up.

Going into final weekend on #godotwildjam, think we've settled on 10 masks. Also written a little flavour text blurb for each of them. Think these are my favourites so far.

A goblin, wearing a mask with a spiralling snake on it, almost like an oroborous. The text reads: "It hums with an ethereal energy and tastes like conjuration... eh, whatever. It's yours now."

Making a #godotwildjam about a little goblin pulling off a big heist, finding masks along the way to help you traverse the level. Been fun coming up with ideas for the mask designs.

If your video essay contains the line "Let's get right in" and follows up with "But first", you have failed to get right in. You have done exactly the opposite of that.

A friend of mine who's a huge Zelda fan said she got burnt out coz it felt like playing the first game again. I thought TotK was a refinement on it, but I came to BotW late (like, months before the sequel).

From my experience, that seems to be the common factor.

Turns out it's exactly 7 years to the day since I graduated from uni with my animation degree.

Today was also my first day working at an animation studio.
