One of the criteria for the #NobelPeacePrize is the "abolition or reduction of standing armies". In a world of #remilitarisation, is there anywhere/anyone worthy? Might, this year, other criteria #Trump this?

You want to know where your money is going? #remilitarisation. And where it will go: "The way I look at it is AI is real, AI in total will pay off,"; "Just like cars in total paid off, and TVs in total paid off, but most people involved in them didn't do well." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The key driver in the #Gaza 20 point plan is revealed in #1; in fact, the entire plan could be reduced to: "Gaza will be de-radicalised..." What this means is the very concept of #Palestine will be depoliticised, neutralised, consigned to history. Notions of self-determination will die in its wake.

Cooking the books also in terms of jobs; data centres will create jobs for no more than a few maintenance engineers and a handful of security guards.
They will consume huge tracts of land (likely displacing housing development) and energy (derailing climate targets).

Data centers bring money to small towns. But do they also bring jobs?
Tech companies are investing hundreds of billions of dollars in data centers across the country. But despite the record-setting price tags, the centers create few jobs.

In discussing the impact of #Covid on children & young people, we should not assume the cost of not going to school was manifest in being deprived of time spent with friends. This is #Palantir; they created the algorithm the #IDF uses to justify the killing of "uninvolved individuals"; the higher the 'value' the target the greater the number it's deemed ok to kill. Not that there's coding for women and children or where to attack: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I, for one, think Don Staniford is doing a good job, and in the public interest. I'd go as far as saying that when the totality of what happens in the name of #salmonfarming comes out it will rank up their with the post office as a national scandal: www.theguardian.com/business/202...
