Mother Mary Clare's prayer is one I often turn to

'Here I am, God. What a mess'

This morning I shared a thought about gentle leadership, and celebrated the power of the #introvert

Always watch the person who says little in meetings. Their contributions, when made, are often the ones most worthy of attention

A busy morning at the Cathedral!

We are grateful to Mr Rob Knight and to Canon Jo Calladine, chaplain, from HMP Manchester for joining us. Canon Jo talked about giving thanks, a theme addressed in Sunday School. And then, an engaging Bible study as the group continued to explore the book of Job

Had the best time at the #PoweredByHope conference held by @christianaiduk.bsky.social

So many brilliant speakers, reminding us to be witnesses to faithful, hopeful action and to challenge ourselves out of places of comfort. Thankful for the opportunity to lead the reflection for opening worship

Leading the lunchtime communion today at the cathedral was very emotional as we all prayed for our Jewish neighbours and for peace

Utterly shocking and devastating attack on the most holiest of days in the Jewish Calendar. Beyond comprehension and deepest prayers go to those affected.

Statement from The Dean of Manchester and Chair of the Challenging Hate Forum

I am shocked and saddened by the news of an attack on one of our local synagogues not far from Manchester Cathedral. Violence of any sort must be condemned in the strongest terms.

As we mark the start of #BlackHistoryMonth, may we recall as Christians we are not following secular society but the other way round! The scriptures are clear: God has designed a world with racial diversity as gift to make the world & Church better now, and a foretaste of what heaven will be like.

I'm currently in a '90s club classics' phase

As all those on the lower deck of the No.8 bus this morning found out when I (once again) didn't realise my Bluetooth had disconnected

😬

Two years of 'Missionering' at the cathedral. Deo gratis
Seven people standing in a row inside Manchester cathedral. The bishop is in the middle, wearing robes and a mitre. I am to his right, with the Dean to my right

If you were around on Sunday, you may have heard something very special!

In what's believed to be a 1st for Manchester Cathedral, we had a successful all-female quarter-peal

A quarter-peal is a performance of change ringing taking 50 mins on our bells and consisting of around 1,250 unique changes
Pictured are those who took part on this very special occasion standing in front of the wooden doors of the cathedral

In news that I know will divide my followers, I am beyond excited for breakfast today

I'd been bemoaning the fact that this had been stopped last year. A colleague spotted it a couple of days ago (apparently it's been restarted) and bought me a jar

I have the best work colleagues
