The Griffins played uninspired hockey in the first period. There were many bad passes, and all around sloppy play. It felt like Grand Rapids was just skating in circles with no destination.

Tyler Angle had a nice shot that Domenic DiVincentiis blocked. But, it put him out of place just enough for Mazur to score on the rebound.

After two periods of play, the Grand Rapids Griffins lead the Manitoba Moose, 3-2.

There were a lot of good cross ice passes made by the Griffins. Part of this is because the Moose struggled to keep their sticks all the way down. Passes were gliding just under their sticks.

Griffins had an unsuccessful power play 9:02 into the second.

PPU1 of Lombardi, Dries, Gustafsson, Mazur, & Mitchell shot wide of the net A LOT, but continually attacked the net.

PPU2 of Watson, Shine, Wallinder, Tralmaks, Becher were a little sloppy.
