With Powell leaving the Fed in the spring and Trump's bullying of the members, they are likely going cut rates at the next meeting. That is a mistake because inflation is going down, but it isn't under control. If inflation isn't tamed, we run the risk of it spiraling out of control.

When Trump says costs are down, he is lying. The inflation number must take in account costs that have risen at any time before. Costs are rising and we know it each time we swipe our debit card at a store.

I'm tiring of Fareed Zakaria. His world view and criticism of democrats is informed by the Briitish occupation of his birthland. Only a person who grew up in an apartheid culture could see any merit is an autocrat like Trump.

In most of the world, healthcare is a right. In the US, it's a privilege. The top 10% will always have affordable care. The bottom 10% will never have it. The rest hope that a cancer diagnosis require push them into bankruptcy. We are not great folks.

I suffer from Trump derangement syndrome. I believe that it is important to tell the truth. Our constructs are centered around truth telling lest we move into complete chaos. Every time Trump lies, I shake in fear that others will copy him and engage in lying as a way of life.

You can't lie to people about what is happening in the economy. Trump should remember Herbert Hoover saying, "There's a chicken in every pot." It cost Hoover his job. We know better when Trump says prices are falling.

Fifty years ago, as an actuary, I observed a woman painting dots on dominoes in a toy factory. That job no longer exists because of efficiency. Not trade deficits as Trump would have us believe. His emergency rationale for tariffs is incorrect.

40% of the SNAP beneficiaries are under the age of 18. Cutting off SNAP benefits reflects who we are as a nation. We don't care about children. We idolize the rich and loathe ourselves.

Trump's Russian sanctions have the opposite effect. The sanctions raise the price of oil which prolongs the war since Russia is financing the war costs by selling oil.
