I’m doing it. Setting a boundary on my syllabus: unless you have an accommodation to wear headphones, no ear buds or headphones are to be worn during class. I had a handful of students who wore them last semester.

My latest thoughts on grief: The fleeting memories are the hardest for me. While that ball of grief inside me shrinks I am grabbing for all the memories to stay front and center. I don’t want to forget what their presence felt like, but I don’t know if our human experience can do that.
