In the interests of following through on yapping more about the fe girls - have my old Tumblr musings on why carnivorous plants are such a good choice of interest for Bernadetta

Been thinking lately about how Bernadetta's love of carnivorous plants is basically a metaphor.

I used to own venus fly traps and the problem with those suckers is that they CANNOT be cared for normally or they wil DIE.

They need distilled water because their roots can't properly absorb minerals from regular water. They also can't be in nice ceramic pots because clay is too delicious and nutritious for them. They also like to hibernate during the winter and basically just play dead.

Carnivorous plants adapted to survive in an
environment that was so hostile to them that they can no longer be cared for normally.

Ya know... like Bernadetta.

Edelbert oriented comic that takes place after the Silver Snow route where defeats Rhea and the player

Edelgard, in a sleeping nightgown, slaps Hubert across the cheek which he's surprised by, but he quickly recovers and doubles down saying, "I mean it. Every word."
Angrily, he recalls the former Black Eagles, faceless. Byleth and Rhea stand behind them with a look of contempt. Hubert grits his teeth. "The moment they decided to betray you, they deserved to d-"

Edelgard cuts him off not wanting him to finish his sentence. "Enough." Hubert remains steadfast in his stance and recalls how they defeated Rhea, Byleth and the former Black Eagles, "Your majesty, do not forget the numerous attempts those traitors made on your life! They were all against us! But against all odds we did it! You should be so proud! This is the path you-" Once again, Edelgard cuts him off, exasperated. She reiterates, with a hand on her chest, "Hubert, nothing you're saying is very helpful right now." It's implied that this whole time he was telling Edelgard all of this in an attempt to comfort her after a nightmare. This is why she is dressed in a sleeping nightgown and he isn't. He still wants to help Edelgard but not having any idea how to do it he asks plainly, "What is it that you want me to do?" Sinking her face into her hand she says, "Oh, I don't know. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I was just... lonely." Hubert recalls a memory of them as children, where Edelgard comforted him with a hug. He reaches a hand out towards her.

Hubert awkwardly pulls Edelgard into a hug, "Is this... okay?" Edelgard is surprised by this but quickly reciprocates the hug and wraps her arms around his waist, leaning into him. Despite initiating the hug, Hubert is a little overwhelmed by the physical contact, making a sound. Edelgard presses the side of her face into his chest and apologizes for the slap, "I'm sorry Hubert. You were just trying to help." The camera pulls back above them as they hold the hug, Edelgard leaning into it while Hubert awkwardly accepts it.
