In Scotland we’re known for braving the cold, battling the wind and pretending it’s ‘taps aff’ weather at 12°C. But there’s one thing we won’t just tough out - losing Scotland’s wild places.

It’s in our nature to act. Sign our petition and stand up for nature: www.wwf.org.uk/scotland/202... ✏️

Agriculture is one of the biggest sources of emissions in Scotland - nature-friendly farming could be a major part of the solution, with benefits for food producers, wildlife and the climate.

Right now just 5% of Scotland’s farm funding directly supports nature-friendly farming. That’s nowhere near enough.

Ahead of next year’s elections call on party leaders to commit to investing in a future where wildlife and farmers thrive 🚜 🐦🐝

We're pleased that the @parliament.scot Rural Affairs and Islands Committee has backed proposals in the Natural Environment Bill to introduce statutory targets to restore nature.

Nature targets are a key demand of our Scotland Loves Nature campaign.

🚨Good to see today's committee report calling for major improvements to Scotland’s new nature law.

Part 2 of the Natural Environment Bill could significantly weaken protections for Scotland’s wildlife – from seabird colonies at Bass Rock to Golden Eagles in the Cairngorms.

It must be fixed!
Today we've launched our campaign to grow Scotland's future!

Nature-friendly farming could be a huge part of the solution to the nature and climate crisis

It can help restore wildlife, cut emissions, and grow sustainable food, so let's fund it properly!

Some devastating news today.

Earlier this year the First Minister @johnswinney.bsky.social said "nature should be at the heart of climate action". This decision flies in the face of that.
A dark day for Scotland’s seabirds.

We're incredibly concerned that Scottish Government have granted consent for the Berwick Bank offshore windfarm, which could catapult some of our most vulnerable species toward extinction 🚨

We will carefully scrutinise the details and consider our next steps.

This is predicted to be one of the most damaging windfarms for birds we are aware of anywhere on the planet.

We support nature positive offshore wind, but this isn’t it. It’s a disaster in the making.

“If the solution to climate change means destroying our natural environment, then it’s no solution at all"

Good to get some coverage of our opposition to Berwick Bank on STV - this massive windfarm would kill thousands of seabirds and needs to be refused

Today is #BiodiversityDay – a perfect time to reflect on the state of Scotland’s nature.

Scotland is famous for its incredible wildlife and wild places but is one of the most nature depleted countries on the planet (ranking 28th from the bottom out of 240).

Today, we handed in a petition with over 100,000 voices calling on the UK Chancellor not to cut the budget for nature friendly farming.

This matters to Scotland because if the UK budget is cut, it is harder to secure funding for Scottish farmers and crofters to support nature.
We’ve just delivered a message to Downing Street, backed by over 100,000 of you.‼️

Farmers, NGOs and the public are standing together to demand action.

UK Government, this is a call you can't afford to ignore.

Any cut now would be a disaster for farming and nature.

@scotgov must now take urgent action for nature and climate, including:

• Investing in nature friendly farming
• Restoring peatlands
• Expanding native woodlands
• Protecting blue carbon stores

One giant windfarm is threatening Scotland’s iconic seabirds - and the future of offshore wind

So we've written to @johnswinney.bsky.social urging him to say no to Berwick Bank

Our director Anne McCall explains why in this blog – and how you can help.

“This is a really critical decision point”

We're calling for Scottish Ministers to say no to Berwick Bank.

This mega windfarm proposal would be a disaster for Scotland's seabirds.

If it is refused, it would unlock a host of nature-friendly offshore projects.

It’s Puffin Day!

Puffins are probably our most well-known seabird and many people’s favourite.

But if we want to keep having the chance to see these surprisingly small beauties along our coast then we need to take action.
