This one really hurts. Americorps is an incredible civil service program. These are young people volunteering in forestry, education, and infrastructure maintenance. I don’t know how anyone can defend this.
My bff’s son works for Americorps and received a decommissioning letter today. DOGE is gutting the program. I’m so angry and disappointed DOGE would go after a program that does such good work. @marisakabas.bsky.social @kairyssdal.bsky.social @katiephang.bsky.social

My 13-year-old daughter told me she was going to “rawdog some cake” the other night. She meant eat it straight from the cake stand without putting it on a plate. We have strayed so far from god.
