And also a great idea on the bands. Is that something that’s commonly used? I’ve been there before to the point where you laugh at your own failure to construct even a couple words into a basic sentence because trying to describe it would be absolutely pointless ;p

My favorite game ever no doubt. It took me waaaay too long to play it but I’m so happy I did

Obtained a road grader today. Gonna be super useful for building our road to the property and maintaining it over the years.

It is! I’m making a 10x12 detached bathroom that’ll be on a permanent foundation. County limit is 10x12 for un-permitted buildings, so might as well have a big bathroom lol

Getting ready to start construction on this tiny home. I'm not a real architect or structural engineer, but I think the design is coming along well! Modeled everything to the best of my ability with calipers and took as many measurements as I could.

Basically yeah. As far as I understand, each component is serialized to the point of absurdity. If you put a part from a laptop marked stolen into another, it’ll lock down and refuse to work.
That or they were paranoid about the tracking capability, which even if it sucks, it was good enough lol

I had accepted my fate that the laptop was gone forever due to my stupidity. Was able to learn several good lessons for the next big trip I do.

They gave me some soda, a large bottle of cold sparking water, bought me a coffee and made 100% sure I got on the next train back to where I was going.
I was able to replace the clothes I lost as I went on my way towards Greece.

My new friend stuck his arm in there, rummaged around and fished it out. I was so incredibly happy to see that thing again. Gave the man a huge hug. The other two workers were really surprised as well. The shared relief and happiness was incredible lol.

The station operators were kind enough to give me some of their nice railway gloves, so at least I had some hand protection.
All the digging had attracted a couple workers. Why is there this tourist digging in our dumpsters?

(In retrospect, I maybe could’ve used a BlueTooth signal strength app to pinpoint which dumpster? Though I had no internet service and the previously installed app had uninstalled itself from inactivity)

To my dismay, the location on the map was somewhat what I was expecting. A dumpster. Or a few of them to be specific.
My one and only complaint is that MacBooks don’t have the same tracking chip as AirTags/iPhones.
All it could tell me is that it was nearby.

Dealing with Hungarian police was a pleasant experience. They must’ve sent 10 officers out in this small village of 50 people.
They were thorough, but ultimately couldn’t help me.

I went back to find it gone. Used an AirTag to trace it to a completely different carriage, shoved under a seat.
