Genesis is clearly comfortable and simply focused on the task, a broad grooming brush in one hand and an impressive scattering of black feathers in various sizes on the floor just in front of him, directly below Sephiroth's wing. Framed as a candid photo, Aerith Gainsborough and Cid Highwind stand close in the foreground, out of focus and barely in frame; a light abrasions is visible on Aerith's chin, and a minor cut over her nose, but she's smiling and turned to the right to chat with Cid. Cid holds a length of red fabric—Vincent's cloak—over his shoulder, has his mouth open and head tilted slightly upward, clearly grousing about something. Much further back in the shot, in focus between the two, a slightly beat-up Cloud Strife carries an equally injured and undeniably unconscious Vincent Valentine over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Vincent is missing his cloak and headband, bent double with his hips balanced on Cloud's shoulder, long hair falling loose to completely obscure his head. His arms hang limply to the level of Cloud's knees, and Cloud grips Vincent's long legs with both hands as he carries him away. Though viewed in profile, Cloud's eye is turned toward the viewer.

Okay, yeah, it's DEAD dead—tried it with a different cable to see if that was it, plugged it into a different computer to see if that was it, and the result is the same. It's dead. Extremely fucking cool for that to happen out of nowhere overnight so I got to wake up to it. Amazing start to the day.

I may have to learn how to make gloves for the express purpose of crafting a tablet glove that actually fits. Why do all tablet gloves assume that the artist's palm is longer than their fingers? Why are they all meant for thick fingers? What are arachnodactyls supposed to do?

Maybe don’t attack peoples’ appearance, even if the person is morally and ethically bankrupt. You can call a Nazi a Nazi without resorting to ableism.

Making fun of horrible people for being fat or having some physical deformity just affirms that you see all your fat/disabled friends as ugly.

“If we redid the greenhouse—” “Still not enough,” Vincent interjected. “I’m referring to a difference measured in orders of magnitude, not a stone or two.” Well, that eliminated that option. Cloud turned back to the stove, pulling the lid off the pot and giving the simmering broth within a stir. “Right.” He paused. “How much is a stone, again?” “Fourteen pounds,” Vincent replied succinctly. “Unless you’re weighing meat, in which case it’s eight.” The phrase ‘eight pounds of meat’ flashed through Cloud’s mind in tandem with the memory of why he was so determined to keep Vincent seated; he managed to hold back the groan of frustration at his own traitorous, idiotic train of thought, determined to keep himself under control. This was stupid. He wasn’t some hormonal teenager who got hard at a breeze, and he’d literally shared a tent with Vincent in the field more times than he could count. Cloud had seen Vincent closer to nude more often than anyone still alive—well, except maybe for Veld, the old Turk now working with the WRO as a consultant on complex field assignments. Vincent had mentioned him by name in such a way as to confirm they’d been contemporaries within the department, and Yuffie had told a couple stories discussing the old man’s complaints about Vincent leaving to decommission the mansion that, if they were even close to the truth, indicated they’d once known each other fairly well. Not enough to be friends today, obviously, but the Turks cleaned up in the locker room at Shinra HQ the same as everyone else, so it was certainly possible that Veld had seen Vincent naked. Cloud couldn’t imagine a Turk getting hot and bothered over a colleague being well-endowed, even so much as Vincent. If a Turk could keep his head on straight—almost forty years ago, back when every party drug on the planet was legal and people in power repeatedly made some of the worst decisions in history, two things that weren’t necessarily related, but certainly didn’t speak very highly toward the era’s sense of propriety—then so could Cloud. “I see why we don’t measure in stones anymore,” he said.
