Factoid: I’d like to say the Sunbeam & 924 shared something in common but, of course, as everyone knows, the 924 had a frame for its glass tailgate whereas the Sunbeam’s glass tailgate was just that - glass…

Factoid: Chrysler made much of their cars having electronic ignition when it was a novelty but industrial action around the time of the Sunbeam’s launched meant some early cars were made without it…

Factoid: The glass tailgate in the Chrysler Sunbeam might’ve been criticised for its high sill though it have a neat rear wash/wipe though being the late ‘70s such luxury was reserved for the top models…

Nobody needs reminding that the Sunbeam Lotus turned out to be an effective & WRC winning rally car. Unfortunately for the car, the 1981 WRC manufacturer’s title for Talbot would come in the very year the Sunbeam’s Linwood plant would close & the car’s production would cease…(3)
