We only have about a week before most legislators go out for a holiday recess, so i recommend giving your reps a call to oppose bad internet bills!

I've included a script i adapted from one initially written by FFtF

Hi there, My name is (your name) and I am calling to oppose multiple harmful internet bills that are moving through Congress right now. I oppose all bills that mandate online ID checks, infringe upon our constitutional right to free speech on the internet, enable government policing of online resources, and threaten end-to-end encryption. If you truly care about young people’s experience on the internet, you should pass comprehensive data privacy legislation and oppose any bill that forces Internet users to submit to ID checks or would censor the internet, like the SCREEN Act, App Store Accountability Act, and KOSA additionally, I want to advocate for section 230, which I have seen multiple legislators call for repealing. Section 230 is integral to a free and open internet, and repealing it would destroy the internet as we know it and countless livelihoods. I do not want to see section 230 repealed, I want to see it protected. my friend Meraki is in danger and will soon be homeless. she's a disabled (POTS) trans woman who was abused by her parents, and is now being put into a life-or-death situation. all relevant info is in the image. donation info is in replies. if you know somewhere she can go, message me. please help.
my best friend Meraki is currently in a dire, life-or-death situation. she has been spontaneously told without prior notice that she only has until the end of the year to move out of her current shelter. she is disabled and has been in a situation like this before due to her abusive parents, but she was given a place to live by people she thought she could trust and confide in. these people have proceeded to break every promise of safety in her new "home", and at times, she was only surviving through a spoonful of peanut butter per day just to have calorie intake. despite repeated confrontations about this neglect to provide comfort, her pleas have been ignored and she is now being kicked out. she has one week to begin the process of leaving before the eviction process is started. she has no stable income, only being able to earn cash through infrequent commissions. i will put a donation link in the replies. if you know someone who can take her in for at least a little while, message me.
