It feels like an art piece as much as an rpg 😅

Had something of a holiday last week, travelling down to York for a few days.

We accidentally took the Most British Train on our way down.
This is Coach A [cunt]

Although, me liking it may be an indictment, given that my rpg characters have historically had a lifespan similar to the goldfish you get from the carnival...

We've recently started Mythic Bastionland and the disparity between the stats actually produces some interesting stories.

The strong and brave knight can charge head on into danger, but for all the rest of us there's genuine risk of death in each encounter, and a need for different approaches.

Can I strongly suggest doing the thing as best you can? I spent a lot of my life on that mission select screen before committing and discovering the thing was not, in fact, nearly as hard as anticipated

From what I've heard from reviewers who didn’t know where the story started; the book itself is good.

People just have issue with its provenance.

In elden times, there would probably have been a great deal of tweed. Nowadays, I feel like pyjamas at midday feature more heavily.

I think it's like most long-suffering groups. If you choose to opt in, then you're one of them.

What would the literary critic uniform be?
raddledoldtart.bsky.social
Suddenly curious - 'pants'?! There's a uniform? US 'pants' or UK 'pants'?
gdpenman.bsky.social
Well, I was describing them as pants for the US readers who would have been quite perplexed to hear about me putting on my fighting trousers...

Good morning!

I just finished reading Wytches by Scott Snyder.

It wasn't just good: it was so fascinating that I'm gonna put on my literary critic pants and write something up about it.

When the MMO boss doesn't have any particular mechanics.

The trick is to go into shock and pass out so subtly that the tattooist doesn't notice until you start snoring.

repost this if an editor has ever saved you from yourself

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

I remember as a kid, the shock of meeting other people who had read the same books and learned none of the same lessons.
