Seeing what they've done with the desert, from a purely gameplay standpoint, I think Minecraft's deepslate layer could also use some sort of challenging mob or encounter. Even the oceans got a new support mob at least.

It might seem random, though I am curious how Hytale will affect Minecraft progression discourse in the long run. Anything could happen, though I'm hoping it eventually blows a certain extremely overrated and outright abysmal idea for Minecraft's progression out of the water. You know the one...

Minecraft's basic gear progression is basically split into two sections: Materials and Enchantments

What do you think of the process? My personal take is that before bothering to nitpick how gear works, enchanting should be focused on first due to its much greater potential.

Exactly! I have been wanting copper to have used forever and voila, a whole Copper Age after Trial Chambers. It’s beautiful.

The leaves, the new sounds, the desert flora and fauna that’s been added has filled empty biomes and made them varied, detailed, complex. Mojang is on the right path.

Personally, I think simply adding more mobs with high health pools would go a long way, especially for the mace and spear in PvE. It would address a surprisingly big chunk of issues I have with Minecraft's newer weapons.

What should Minecraft focus on more when it comes to new neutral or hostile mobs?

Some might say the minecart improvements will break certain Minecraft builds, and thereby are not worth it at all...

Though it should also be considered how many builds they will inspire and create as well. Besides, I think less complicated contraptions can be fixed with only a few tweaks.

Yeah, might want to wish the mace good luck.

The spear is probably the "modern" Minecraft weapon with the most niches and use cases. What will you be using it for once it comes out? #Minecraft #MountsOfMayhem

Sometimes I feel like dimensions hold Minecraft back on some fronts. Whenever I hear people's ideas for a new dimension to be added to Minecraft, it feels like it would easily fit into a current Minecraft dimension.

I also think artifact-like weapons would set expectations better. You'd expect a craftable or rare weapon to have a practical, intuitive use case. But the function of "artifacts" doesn't have to be intuitive. For all we know, iceologer projectiles could have a niche for platforming or mob farms.
Until they integrate more attributes into the melee weapons system, I'd much prefer more Minecraft weapons similar to MCD artifacts instead. I genuinely think the ice rod would be less niche than the mace in PvE if it existed.

What kind of game is Minecraft LESS of?

An "RPG" or a "survival game"?

What is your favorite Minecraft QoL feature added this year?

Apparently, according to a recent tweet from Simon about Hytale's incompleteness, progression was one of the aspects mentioned that's the least developed.

Even then, I'm sure it'll spark some interesting discussions. It could still put the "tack everything in Minecraft to the dragon" idea to rest.

Anyway, here are some completely normal Ender dragons. The winding, ever expanding, and all encompassing anatomy of these beings is exceptional to all other mobs. #Minecraft

What would more difficult boss fights for the dragon and wither look like, either through a basic difficulty increase or a stronger variant activated by bad omen?

I keep seeing requests to return to the Minecraft's previous update system, but I'm not sure if that will solve anything really. Most areas that could reasonably be overhauled in a year have already been done, with the most pressing areas that remain needing greater care and a longer deadline.

The thing is that whenever they try to overhaul a system or anything in general, they will do so then leave it in the "experimental" category for literal years.. I do enjoy when they update old mechanics though, i just wish they would keep working on them and not forget about it. like the minecart…

Do you think we'll ever see a large area or system in Minecraft overhauled again? Last time that happened was Caves & Cliffs.
