Yorkshireman. UK based. Classic cars, culture, politics and Bowie get me giddy. Lover of scotch eggs, strong tea, scotch, but not strong eggs. Former Consigliere, among many other things.

To introduce myself. I joined @bsky.app when it first set up as thought Twitter was getting whiffy. Prophetic much?
I live in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Born in Bradford, which I’m proud to say is the UK City of Culture 2025. Way back, I was a BBC radio producer, then moved into comms. Now listless.
The latest #Covid report published today, is a timely reminder of just how appalling a prime minister #BorisJohnson was. Those calling for the current PM to go, should look to recent history.

Nil engagement on this platform. Meh. Probably one to delete!

These three: @maitlis.bsky.social, @lewisgoodall.com, @jonsopel1.bsky.social - all ex #BBC journalists, now on @newsagents.bsky.social are brilliant, especially on the latest crisis facing the Corporation. Passionate, informed, yet clearly angry at how and why it has come to this.

It is, indeed, our #BBC. Do not let a discredited foreign leader destroy it.

A big win for people more outraged by a silly edit at the BBC than by a man impeached by Congress for literally inciting an insurrection being back in the White House. Pathetic.
🔴 Breaking I Davie faced mounting criticism that a Panorama documentary misled viewers by editing a speech by Donald Trump

Tim Davie was one of the best D-Gs the BBC has had, and Deborah Turness was a brilliant head of news. Only the BBC’s enemies could possibly be glad they’ve resigned. We’ve now got a real fight on our hands to defend public service broadcasting, because that’s under threat too.

All of you shrieking in joy about the #BBC resignations should pause and think why they happened. Let me help you. #Trump threatened the UK Government. Happy with that?

As a bit of a petrol head, very sad to hear of the passing of motoring journalist, #QuentinWillson. Always so very knowledgable and informative, without the distraction of silliness that other motoring presenters displayed. One of the original #TopGear crew.

I think what really made #CelebrityTraitors brilliant (and this applies to the regular series) is that it’s that rare beast - appointment TV - none of this “catch all episodes on iPlayer now.”

There are so few wholesome moments on live news shows, but tonight’s #Newsnight @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social with @vicderbyshire.bsky.social and wronged former sub post master, #BettyBrown, 92, was one of those moments. Good to see justice for Betty, albeit 27 years too late.

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. That’s it.
The disgrace is total.

I’ll wait for much of the msm to apologise to #RachelReeves for their hysterical and inaccurate reporting.

Like Godot, I know it’ll be a long wait.

It ought to be Celia Imrie on #CelebrityTraitors delivering the line: farting is such sweet sorrow.

#LeonardAndHungryPaul
Caught up with this delightful, gentle series based on two friends.
Great leading cast, Alex Lather as Leonard, Laurie Kynaston as Paul, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell as Shelley. Based on the book by Rónán Hession.
Celebrating the uncelebrated. And it’s so stylishly shot.

There is no one more suited to her ministerial role, than #JessPhilips. It’s now clear there is an orchestrated campaign to force her resignation. #Reform Ltd are behind this. I stand with Jess, and all the survivors.

I’d quite forgotten how dreadful a PM #BorisJohnson was. His “evidence” at the Covid Inquiry is a useful reminder.

True to type, another pompous statement from #PrinceAndrew Make no mistake, it’s King Charles and the Prince of Wales, who have forced his hand.
His only ‘title’ should be Mr Andrew Windsor.

As Cilla would have said: Surprise, surprise.
Reform UK has been forced to reject more unlawful donations than any other British political party in 2025

the party has had to give back almost £200,000 this year from 18 impermissible donors, according to Electoral Commission data

Incredible that the #TurnerPrize has come to my home city of #Bradford. Amazing displays of art at Cartwright Hall. If you can, do visit. On until February.

I reckon @vicderbyshire.bsky.social
does a brilliant job fronting #Newsnight I think she’s let down (as are we, the viewers) by fairly regular technical glitches. Suspect not a lot of experienced people up in the gallery.

Brava, Sally Wainwright. #RiotWomen is another masterpiece from your genius pen.
