Above her left eye, a familiar pang of sharp, cold fire scraped at the socket.
Hissing, she pressed her fingers against the pain, her gaze darting around the marina, searching for its source.
Since she could remember she'd been plagued by these
flash
headaches, these sudden migraines varying in strength from sharp stabs of pain to white agony so severe that she ended up writhing and talking in tongues. They came in waves and months, maybe years would pass between them. But each time they came, they brought with them an unwanted side effect.
