I fell into a Dorothy Thompson hole this weekend and her article (1941) on who goes “MAGA” is worth a revisit.

An excellent response by MIT’s President Sally Kornbluf rejecting the Trump compact.

Other universities should do the same.

Is there a reason to assume this is different for any other beverage in single use plastic?

I appreciate the depth of that answer, however, for the layman sometimes a simpler, but accurate, statement is useful. “IF” we stay on the trend of the last 30 years the summer ice will be gone “when?”. How do I say this for grandma who listens to the media and thinks climate change is a hoax?

A global plan to monitor the climate…which the US did not participate in. This official US is throwing the earlier US actions under the bus regularly.

I picked up the 1855 Patent Office Report on Agriculture at the antique store. It has some beautiful writing on climate you would like @michaelemann.bsky.social. One of the first reports by our government on our climate change actions?

“New” book - Report of the Commissioner of Patents, 1855 Agriculture. The initial pages ring loudly true today on the need to fund well constructed federal statistics. #stats #data #history

This is one of the best museums I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend if you’re in Phoenix.
