I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but just in case it’s you, you matter.
Whoever you are and whatever you are.
Unless you’re a Nazi.
Or a TERF.
Or a cunt.
But everyone else, you matter.
And don’t forget that.

Nelson. Probably the most famous of Royal Navy admirals.
Odd chap, lost an arm and an eye in Napoleonic Wars, bought pretty badges right before a battle, wore them in plain sight of enemy, ended up getting shot, last words asking some guy to kiss him!

I had dodgy symptoms in 2020, spoke with GP, urine test straight away, nothing other than blood, urgent referral, full works with urologist within about 3-4 weeks. All clear thankfully. But was mightily impressed with response, esp so soon after first lockdown!

Some here with a PB2, think they’re Nelson!

Some of the boat owners I encounter at work, I can’t help but think Darwin Awards waiting to happen…

Me though, too young for screening.

When I worked in the NHS, there was a patient on a ward I worked on.
A GP.
In his early 30s maybe?
Young kids.
Terminal bowl cancer.
Multiple metastases.
He’d ignored all the symptoms.
Paid for it with his life.

In Wales we get sent the sampling sticks that the lab uses, so all you do is poke your turd, put it in reply-paid envelope then post off to Cwnbrân I think it is.

And I should add, only half-heartedly implementing those recommendations because they're concentrating on class V pax vessels yet ignoring class VI.
So it is now the case that a vessel working in Cat C waters (rivers basically) has more restrictions than one that can go up to 3 miles to sea!

I've pre-emptively bookmarked this thread as I'm not far logging off and pouring myself a glass of cider, but I'll get back to it tomorrow :)

No, we take 10 years before holding and inquiry as to whether there should be an inquiry, to decide there should be an inquiry, then then take 35 years to finally implement the last of the recommendations.

And yes, I am looking at the Marchioness here...

True. But also, the current situation in France intrigues me. Not that I understand much of it.

Gill wasn't found guilty.
He admitted every charge.
Which is far more damning of him.
And that Führage took so long to come out and "condemn" him is also telling.
Except, he didn't exactly condemn, did he? No, he made it all about himself.

Drinks, yes.

You know, liquids taken by mouth, principally for the purposes of hydration, but secondarily for enjoyment and to lubricate the vocal cords.

Good point well presented.

But seeing as the closest I'll be getting to France for the foreseeable is sipping Calvados, I think things'll be ok when I do eventually get there...

I watched a similarly-accurate feature presentation last night, retelling the escapades of the 3rd Foot and Mouth in India.

Europeans serve some mighty-fine drinks.
Some great political discussion to be had over a glass* of white.
In my experience, Germans do damn-good politicing.
As do the Irish.
No experience with the French however.
Needs sorting.

*Who'm I kidding, it'll be a bottle. At least.

Tonight on the Bear Cave menu (top table only): Normandy-style pork chops, Normandy potatoes, Lyonnaise green beans.

Lower tables: Norman's spam.

Vegetarian/vegan option: apple peelings.

Scraps and scrapings that get past Bailey available at the cave mouth as usual.

I somehow thought it would be on your radar!

I was wondering what was in it for the Drumpf Crime Family...

An interesting read, and raises many valid points.
One thing I disagree with is David Milliband as chair as the die-hard leavers would see him biased towards the EU. Better I think to have someone with no previous public views on either side, but can't think of a likely candidate...

This ladies, gentlemen, and everyone in between, is why you don't trust AI.
London rail stations with a "y" include Marylebone, West Ruislip, Finchley Road, Belsize Park, Kensal Green, and Leytonstone. Other stations with a "y" in their name are Euston, King's Cross, Paddy Park, and Waterloo. There are numerous stations with "y" in their name, but these are some of the most well-known.
