Can also ask how much aliasing is acceptable in the name of clarity and contrast. I'm playing Metaphor: ReFantazio right now. That game is quite aliased all the way through (GFD Engine), but the style of the game works better with that noise than it would TAA.

Anyways, I don't envy you your task. 😆
I'm not sure. What if we look to other engines with nice visual clarity and find out how *they* do it? How does a Silk Engine game do it? Or Genome? Hell, I was playing a budget trucking game recently (appropriately titled "Truck Driver") that looked clean. Looked that up and find out it was Unity!
There are a lot of players now who will see or feel UE5 and consciously (or subconsciously) think "slop." Or "low effort." Or "low quality." Even if the game is good, that initial taint WILL sour their perception permanently.

Keep the blind player from noticing that it's UE5 for as long as you can.
My unsolicited advice...

Once the foundation is laid and you're in the alpha phase (now?), stand back and look at the game in motion and ask yourself: "Can I tell this is UE5?" So long as the answer is yes, ask yourself why. And then, KILL THE REASONS WHY. One reason at a time.

I believe in you.
Finally checked out the GEX Trilogy. The wizards over at Limited Run Games have somehow managed to port these 25-year-old games to modern platforms without increasing their framerates. You can't even save your game properly. Incredible work, LRG!

Fuckin' slop.

It will be astonishing if you are able to mop all of the UE5 sludge from your game’s last coat of paint. Wishing you luck though, and will remember to check your game out when it releases to see how it went! 🤘
UE5 titles are the Netflix Original Productions of gaming.

Anything is better. Even Unity is better. Frostbite. Silk. Katana. They can all produce vibes. Nearly every UE5 production feels like sticky factory farmed template cut slop no matter how much money is thrown at it.

If Silksong had released in 2020, not one single person would have said or thought "I can't believe this released so quickly, it feels like a game that should have taken an additional 5 years!"

That said, as an anti-capitalist I think It's great that the devs were relaxing throughout development.
wait is that country being slowly enveloped by water or am i thinking of somewhere else
My man, you been doing this for what, a decade...? How do these people even penetrate your consciousness at this point?

I made a Shenmue video about how the PC version sucked a fat one. Someone replied that they were going to rape my dad. 😭

Shake your head and press on. This issue is not solvable.
From the Fantasy Life i Twitter page: "You can now adjust the camera to see more of the world around you! By selecting 'Camera Operation (Far)' in the options menu, the camera’s movement range expands, maybe even enough to spot a dragon napping in the distance?"

Game changer (literally).
My old lady can sense them from across the apartment. She’s just as crazy for Cheetos, does Sully eat those too?
You must be sick to death of this question, but what’s your expected time frame for a full release? I’ve never played any Ultima but IX (I know, I know) and would love to play VII for the first time via your Revisited project.
Good timing, then. I’ll begin my quest as soon as the patch drops! Guessing you’ll post about it? Maybe I’ll make like it’s 1990 and read the manual in the meantime.
Excellent take that I think a lot of us inherently "felt" but couldn't properly articulate at the time.
@banditloaf.wcnews.com I am finally going to play my first WC game. I primarily like to play on my TV. Should I jump right to WC3 on PS1, or should I bite the bullet and sit at the PC with 1 and 2 first? And if so, are GOG versions suitable, or are there fan patches somewhere I should use? Thanks!
Is it the Indian achievement or is there something more? I'm trying to look this up and keep getting the achievement.
This sounds like something you’re making up. And I’m no fan of his.
An Early Access drug tycoon game?
Dumping the game into a generic UE5 fantasy shell with little to no consideration for the aesthetic value or art direction of the original game is an "impressive remastering." Clownish take from Digital Foundry here, and one that will ensure we get more low quality trash like this in the future.
Could you tell whether this was from the Oblivion Remaster or some random UE5 F2P slop I found on Steam?

(the answer is no)
