They'd rather charge a subscription fee for an al carte selection than allow people to 'own'* them

I've seen Frankenstein mods that you have to open the system up, solder all over the place to make these things go I just want a plug & play solution or you know a cheap all-in-one device to serve my purposes w/o dropping $1-2k

I'm sure Earthbound had it's translation quirks too

But I'm not going to let 'it's not faithful to the original JPN' ruin a game to me, if it's well written & conveys the message of the OG game

good translations that don't have WD-style humor that locks things in time (political jokes, etc)

I know WD added extra text queues into their games to add in a lot of those extra 'jokes' that weren't in the original games

I'd rather have a translation in the spirit of the original game w/o being

I didn't include all of the other posters comments as he came w/bad faith continually arguing 'ego, changing things to suit the localizers whims (aka you know what localization is...), everything should be literal 1:1 (which isn't what localization is...SURPRISE🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️)

I agree w/him, only people with no knowledge of JPN -> ENG translation only ever ask for 1:1 literal translations

Because the 2 languages do NOT have 1:1 words & have to use similar words to convey the same things (but not always)

you gotta give him credit, he took dead series (Ninja Gaiden) brought it back & created a spin-off fighting game & resurrected the main series back as a solid contender as one of the best action series of the 2000's

I quit playing this because of the RNG grind for materials & I LOVED Automata
