📌 conas taoi, how are ye ☘️✨️

im just an elusive small town 🎨ealaíontóir who only experiences rare bursts of inspiration between the 🏙daily grind🌃. it makes me happy to put a little art out in the world, i hope you all enjoy it too 💜💚

tá mé fós ag foghlaim gaeilge, leithscéalta as droch-ghramadach 🙇‍♂️
its great honestly bc even poorly written characters become hilarious and fun when you're the one in charge of delivering their lines and shaping their personality
"why doesn't pokemon have voice acting yet" lissen if you're not dramatic reading pokemon cutscenes with your friends you're just doing it wrong
táim 30 inniu agus táim ar bís faoi 🕺✨️
Cuireann sé ceist ort an bhfuil sé fiúntach ligean do do bheith ann a bheith le feiceáil...
Is deacair maireachtáil le paranoia mar go mbraitheann sé go bhfuil gach focal a fhágann do bhéal mícheart. Braitheann sé go bhfuil gach gníomh ina dheis do dhuine dofheicthe bealach a aimsiú chun dochar a dhéanamh duit

Is bealach iontach é chun tús a chur leis an tseachtain, dar liom, nuair a fuair mé amach gur scríobh duine éigin m'ainm-marbh ar cheann de na seastáin seomra folctha do na fir 🙄😮‍💨
Is í an Gaeilge mo theanga. Sin an rud a mhothaíonn ceart. Fiú mura bhfuil mé foirfe fós, níl mé ag iarraidh stop a chur leis an teanga. Sin an chaoi a bhfeabhsóidh mé. Agus, mothaím go bhfuil an domhan tuillte a chloisteáil cé chomh hálainn is atá sé 💜

reject commercialism, embrace culturalism. if you want to learn more about Irish paganism & folklore, i highly recommend the Candlelit Tales podcast. It's hosted by 2 native Irish siblings with a passion for reviving traditional Irish storytelling. here's a relevant example! youtu.be/EY5wokOOYcs?...

probably also worth mentioning that the only reason England kept the north of Ireland is bc they threatened us with genocide if we didn't. literally, they threatened to wipe the entire island out and bring the Irish to extinction. so uh, there's that
as well, while much of Ireland is independent today, the northern section is still under English control, and they're still being oppressed by the English. racial slurs for the native Irish exist and are still used today. this history is relevant bc we are still being victimized today
bear this in mind. you were introduced to Halloween because an indigenous, marginalized people was escaping an oppressive genocide. bear this in mind before you treat our traditions with mindless disrespect.
the great potato famine was not just a famine, while our potatoes were in fact blighted, we had other crops we could've eaten for our harvest. England kept robbing us of those crops for exports, bc they cared more about the economy than the lives of the Irish.
btw in case you weren't aware (most aren't), the English colonized the Irish in the 1200s and maintained oppressive control over us for roughly 700 years. during this time they committed at least 3 major genocides against us, starving us out and destroying our land. they criminalized speaking Irish.
"samhain" actually refers to the start of November, not the end of October. Ancient Celtic time keeping considered sunset to be the start of the next day (night, technically- we viewed the day as part of the night). the real name for the night of celebration is actually Oíche Shamhna, Samhain Night
druids were not gender exclusive, and were often female. we didn't really use the word "witch" for magical people until we spoke English. "fairies" isn't even a good English word to describe the síoga either, due to the feminization of the word. síoga could be any gender or no gender at all
