Some friends and I are setting up a discord community to chat to other writers and help each other out.

A lil place where we can talk about books we love, writing we'd like some feedback on and general resources for better writing :D

This is a cute lil design with the beads!
Mine has to be that I never really pay attention to what hook size I need. I tend to just look at the yarn and then look at which hook I think I want to use xD
Sounds like the perfect evening ^^
They are really well done and the tension is good too :) the best thing about crochet is that you can easily 'frog' it (undo it) and redo to your hearts content :D
This is so cute! I love the shade of green you chose too 💚
This is a wonderful thing to do. Thank you for helping those who need it ❤️
I think I'll be using it to outline changes in mindset over the course of a story should certain key events happen and how the characters respond to them.

It's great that there are so many ways that we can use timelines to help us with our writing :D What about you? How do you use them?

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 5:
A book doesn’t need a “serious message” to be worthwhile. Joy is a legitimate end in itself.
This is SO helpful if you want to keep track of how your characters change their POV through a timeline of events.

You can use Scrivener's Corkboard to visualize some complex elements of novels with multiple point-of-view characters and timelines, giving you a bird's eye view of your plot to ensure the coherence of complex stories.

Omg, I was literally JUST thinking how awesome it would be if there was a way to include 'timelines' into the app...Now I know there already is!

Thank you <3
It's that time of year again. Which books are you getting into to fuel your spooky vibes?

I was literally playing some spooky Phasmophobia with friends earlier when my little ball of fluff jumped on my power button on my laptop xD
Kitties make the best writing buddies...until they walk over your keyboard 😂

(Mine do this constantly, but I still love 'em)
Noted! Thank you. It's only a small space at the moment but I will certainly adapt and adjust the channels better today :)
Oh that's cool but no relation im afraid.
I sat down to work on my Mermaid novel and ended up creating part of a new novel with its roots coming from Fox Hunting.

One day, it would be nice to have a brain that would actually *focus* on what I want it to 😂

Being able to know how to plan properly xD

I know there are all sorts of ways to write a novel, my go-to seems to be literally burting it all out and editing later to make sense (letting the characters drive you)...but it'd be nice to know the destination and some of the journey 😂
Don't you love sitting down to carry on with your story, only to then create a new story in your head that is completely different than the one you are working on? I swear I'm working on at least 5 different novels at once right now 👀
Researching for a novel is a task and a half. I love it, but gosh darn is it like getting blood from a stone sometimes xD
As much as I love my Cornish heritage...trying to find out more information on certain things is almost impossible due to so many centuries of stories being told orally instead of it being written down. I am so thankful for the Celtic overlap, but I know that not all of it is shared in each area.
Starting this morning off with some research into bioluminescence to make sure the setting for part of my novel sounds somewhat plausible... How are you spending your morning? 🥰

Congratulations!! From what I've read it's SO much hard work just to get to this stage. You're rocking it :D
Oh, is something happening with bluesky? (It's so hard to keep up with whats what lately!)
Took a heck of a writing and reading hiatus.
I feel amped up to start again now, though I'm not sure what made me lose my mojo in the first place.

What do you all do to keep your energy high when it comes to your hobbies? I'd love if folks could share any tips they use :)
