Developers just crashed the skins market, but why? Are they planning to remove cases entirely and replace everything with the Armory?

Since 2012, Valve has regularly released seasonal updates for CS:GO, but this has completely changed in CS2. Along with the remake of the Ancient night map, they also added mysterious golden balls. But why?

There's a reference to TF project in the source1import code, that means Valve are trying to import S1 assets into Source 2.

This is still assuming that TF actually means Team Fortress.

Over the past two years, we've seen leaks about the weirdest cosmetic items: pets and eggs. Also, remakes of Cache, Cobblestone, Ancient + rumors about Mirage, Tuscan, Anti-Cheat hardware upgrade, and much more!

Garry Newman announced a mounting system for the sandbox gamemode in their spiritual successor of Garry's Mod (called S&Box). It will allow you to import and spawn assets from any game in your Steam library in the sandbox.
New Counter-Strike 2 update synced the game with the Source 2 codebase for the first time in nine months, resulting in a significant number of leaks related to the next Valve game - HLX (rumored to be Half-Life 3)

One of the Valve animators published a test footage for their face rig systems featuring one of the Deadlock characters on his LinkedIn profile.
Valve registered new trademarks for the Deadlock (they already had ones for the name, but now it's a full logo). I don't think it means that they gonna make it open soon, but preparation for the future promos seems reasonable
looks like devs continue to work on trade protection for cs2 items inside the steam inventory system, found and shared by [CygaPb] RoadRunner
Valve are working on additional Marketplace verification using the Steam mobile app for items in the "per item" category, mostly Counter-Strike 2 skins. Found and shared by @lifeismana.bsky.social.
New Counter-Strike 2 update mentions some sort of "bidding" system related to in-game XP. Something that you can buy using gained XP?
It started as a prototype using Left 4 Dead assets, then switched from being a Half-Life game to a completely new sci-fi universe and eventually scrapped again due to poor internal feedback. So, what exactly happened?

I continued to experiment with a skin that changes color based on a random seed. Now I finally figured out how to include full RGB spectrum! The RVNDOM CAMO finish combines a modern, angular camouflage pattern with industrial black polymers. @counter-strike.net
Recently added pattern-based @counter-strike.net charms inspired me to experiment with a skin that changes color based on a random seed. There are 999+ unique color variants, including red, blue, pink, purple, all sorts of mixed fades, as well as the ultra-rare black & white pattern.
Noticed a recent spike in obvious cheaters in matchmaking? A bunch of people asked me if the CS2 developers disabled VACnet, but it looks like they updated their equipment for everything related to machine learning inside Valve. I suppose that could be the reason...
People complained that there are too many purple M4A1-S, so here you go...

Shizuka 静香 for @counter-strike.net in monochrome red. The word "shizuka" directly translates to quiet, gentle, or silent in Japanese. It's a popular Japanese name, used for both boys and girls.
Considering that Valve most likely bought the rights to the Cache's layout, I don't think we will see it soon™. They will likely remake it from scratch. On the brighter side, they are cooking Cobblestone remake for a long time now. Next map rotation will be interesting.
