Hopes and dreams for NM!

No, the first year is a privately conducted event, similar to other mini-cons like FLoP Vegas. Our team is currently discussing the formation of either a 501(c)3 or 501(c)7 organization, pending success of the first iteration in order to provide consistent furry events. Think of it as a pilot event.

Additionally, any unsold rooms will be the direct financial responsibility of event leadership, with additional aid provided by sponsors. FERN is a passion project, and we expect to put in more than what we could potentially get out of it in pursuit of putting together a weekend event in-state.

We have signed an event contract with the hotel. Meaning for that weekend we are booking every room in the venue. The total room price includes a 2 night stay for the event. ($260 total, or $130 a night). This is actually around $20 cheaper than the standard room rate at the property.
