I know the world is exploding, but at the same time, I can't get over how much I f*cking love Namco's original "Dig Dug". I must have played it 150 times (one quarter at a time) back in the 80s, then totally forgot about it, and now I'm playing it again, and it's just wonderful.

Evercade Alpha Taito edition is quite impressive . The only I don’t like is that there is no external volume control

I’ve tried Vercel and Lovable and Figma Make, and each is initially interesting, and then terribly disappointing in their own special way. I think a better route to quick prototypes is Python /Flask on my own machine, or at least, that works well for me.

On further review, the Intellivision Sprint looks decent because it supports homebrew via roms. If they release a usb cart reader as an option I think that would be nice.

Atari announces the Intellivision Sprint ?
45 built-in games, HDMI, wireless controllers and overlays for each game. $149.99 and no cartridge port?

"USB-A Can also be used to play additional games (sold separately)."

In this economy? Huh? Weird choices here.

Camp Pendleton has a shooting range and sometimes they shoot missiles there. Don’t get distracted by this non-event.

Took two of my adult kids to Dave and Busters yesterday and dropped $150 for about an hour of enjoyment. Most of the games were 25% to 50% more than they were a year ago. I think they have finally end-state capitalized themselves into the enshittification stage.

Our new story about computer game legend Chris Crawford. This version has been copyedited by Scott Mace who wrote for Infoworld for almost two decades and donated his time and effort help tell Chris's story.

Good morning, I'm back at @retroxp.bsky.social looking at 30 years of the Playstation, this time through the lens of Namco Museum. Namco's celebration of its past was never better, nor a deeper dive, than in its initial Playstation incarnations, and they should look to that fact in the future.
30 years of the Playstation: Namco Museum
The start of a vital trend, and Namco has arguably never done it better than on the Playstation.

I still don’t “need” Disney+. Over the Past 6 years I’ve paid around $800 for it, and I’ve watched a few old movies and 1/2 dozen series. It’s not worth it to go back any time soon.

So let me get this straight: all of paramount, Viacom, cbs, plus soon wb, hbo, News Corp, Sinclair , WAPO, Facebook, X , and TikTok are all swinging hard right because … (checks notes) Star Wars went diverse and a few trans kids wanted to play sportsball?
