A PSA for the folks switching to #Discord - temporarily or otherwise - as they log out of Messenger for the first time in 15 years:

The mobile app does not get pushes while the desktop app is open. Don't forget to right click > *Quit* out of the desktop app if you want notifications on your phone.
... I graduated with my degree in 2011, lol.
A recurring nightmare I have often enough that I remember having had it before when I wake:

I'm in a college class, and I suddenly realize I've been forgetting to go to it all semester. As in, I've been going to ask if my other classes except that one, which I somehow forgot was on my schedule.
I no longer believe in the Christian faith, due in no small part to people like Charlie Kirk... but the part of me that used to is SCREAMING right now.

That man's last words on this Earth were a DELIBERATE misdirection from the truth to serve a partisan agenda.

If Hell is real, he belongs there.
Just in 2025 alone, there's been more than 300 mass shootings in the United States, and there's still a whole quarter to go.

Charlie Kirk literally "died as he lived":

Twisting the truth, to the cheers of the Far Right.
The answer was 5. In the last five years.

Now, he's right in one way. ONE mass shooting is "Too many", regardless of the perpetrator.

The follow-up, which he never got to respond to, was "Do you know how many mass shootings there have been in he last five years?"
So I've seen The Video. And you know what?

I'm going to amend my previous statement.

Charlie Kirk's last words were, ironically, in response to a question about mass shootings.

"Do you know how many mass shooters in the last five years have been transgender?"

He picks up the mic. "Too many"
I can't muster much sympathy for the man, but neither do I see this as a "win" for anyone.
Things I am not a fan of:
- Charlie Kirk
- Gunfire being involved in any part of the political process

He was a mouthpiece for some absolutely abhorrent ideas, but now he'll be enshrined as a martyr... To say nothing of the fact that apparently his family was present.
Nothing says "We're the Good Guys" quite like not even bothering to pretend the reason we have a bigger military budget than the next ten nations combined is for "Defense" anymore, yeah?

(Release the damn files already.)

I’m still here. For now. End-stage kidney failure means dialysis isn’t enough. A kidney transplant is my only chance at a fuller life. If you’re healthy and want to help, check if you’re a match: nkr.org/PZG643 Please share to help spread the word.

Sarcasm aside, the Davis example is actually worse than my hypothetical above, since she was a *public servant* paid by the tax dollars of the people whose rights she demanded to be allowed to ignore.

If your beliefs make you unable to perform your job, then you need to find a different job.
"I really don't like Christo-Fascists. Their actions and behavior run contrary to my deeply held beliefs. Therefore I should not be required to have them as passengers; everyone else is okay, and it would be a violation of my rights to tell me otherwise."

Supreme Court formally asked to overturn landmark same-sex marriage ruling
10 years after the Supreme Court extended marriage rights to all same-sex couples, it will consider whether to take a case asking it to overturn the decision.

The entire debate is about "Erick's insistence on making blanket statements.

I agree the environment is "chaotic" at the moment. Wild, inflammatory generalizations such as the one he's making do not help.
Statements that begin with "All" do nothing to help the situation you describe.
Nonsense. He's ranting at strangers. It's a purely performative act with zero consequences, that accomplishes nothing other than making him feel better about himself (like any other act of Slactivism).

What makes this worse than other forms of Slactivism is he's lashing out at his own allies.
You could be joining the discussion in a productive way; instead you'd rather browbeat people because it makes you feel better about our inherent place of privilege without actually...

... y'know...

...accomplishing anything useful.

Good luck with that.
Your entire argument predicates around "It's your fault because you didn't do enough."

The problem with that stance is that you don't know a damn thing about what any given person has or hasn't done.

Blanket statements aren't arguments. It's just pseudointellectual bullshit.
I've seen your idea of "talking it out". You've got a lot of blame to fling, but I don't see you doing much. You're not interested in solutions; you just want to yell.

Kindly hush and get out of the way of those of us who are actually trying to fight this.
This reads like intentional rage-bait, 'cause it's a little hard to believe you're actually this dense.

Even if this was true, that doesn't make people fighting it now a bad thing.

1. Review the adage "Never punish behavior you want to see more of," then
2. Take your tantrum elsewhere.
"Until then, starve away."

Uh... Someone should probably remind Rep. Randy Fine that collective punishment is a war crime, and denial of food and water to an area is a form of genocide.
I'll tell you right now what this country needs: a couple of Irish boys with the blood of Cu'Chulain in their veins and nothing to lose.
