I just remember this game being good but having weird difficulty spikes, with one in particular towards the end being infuriating. The multiplayer in the original release that I'm not sure is there any more was quite good, though.
Sadly, not part of a franchise that ended with Escape From Arnold Palmer.
Slight delay on Patreon bonus vid for high tiers due to life/illness stuff. Shouldn't be too much of one, but the headaches from the weather south of me are slowing me up.
Fatigue slowing me up a bit but should be working on the patreon Bonus vid today as well as other projects.
When will graphics get better than this?
Hello - @bowloflentils.bsky.social, do you recall if Demon's Ring (The Falcom game) 's PC-98 ports ever released? Sources conflict.

I wrote a long article about Rieko Kodama, her career at Sega, the evolution of her company, the games she worked on (including some canceled games and/or games for which she is not credited), the status of women and working conditions in the video game industry, etc.

Illustration: a portrait of Rieko Kodama with some of the games she has worked on. The dominant colors are yellow, purple and red. Counterclockwise from top left: Rieko Kodama, Alis and Lutz from Phantasy Star, Sonic in a maze, Alex Kidd and his motorbike next to Flicky on a waterfront pier, Joe Musashi and his dog near the Statue of Liberty facing a skyline, the three playable characters from Golden Axe seen from behind on the edge of a cliff, and one of the flying ships from Skies of Arcadia.
It gives me four distinct "oof!" noises, though!
I remember these devs released Drascula as freeware a while back, but I'm not sure if it is still up on ScummVM's website.
Holy cow, what game?
I wish i had more to say about Kurokishi no Kamen tbh, but it was a bit slight.

I really liked Paracelsus no Maken other than the handling of the Munich section. That'll be a patreon bonus because it would have derailed the video but I was surprised at how strong it was as a game.
New video is up. This one took a while due to the release schedule and difficulty of the first game being higher than expected. It's about Hitoshi Yasuda and the Ghost Hunter trilogy, as well as the various behind the scenes weirdness that caused it to be forgotten.

The typing game having an End of Evangelion minigame cracked me up. The karaoke one can go right to hell tho
New video up tomorrow, it's uploaded, it's just very late. Some minor typos in the credits but honestly I can live with it lol, I don't want to have to upload it again @_@

Should kick over public at 11AM EST, but I'll post on here and patreon when it is up.

Patreon bonuses should be up in a week.
Next video should be up on YouTube this weekend. Just finishing up citations and some audio re-recordings. Should be around 45min long and speak about the Ghost Hunter franchise (Laplace no Ma, Paracelsus no Maken, Kurokishi no Kamen) as well as some history of Group SNE and Hummingbird Soft.
One on One: Julius Irving vs Larry Bird ! I played the absolute hell out of this on the Tandy CoCo as a kid. You could shatter the backboard.
Off the top of my head

-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth (minus some bow puzzles)
- Aliens infestation (kind of)
- Gato Roboto
- Knytt Stories (more vibes than anything)
- The Messenger (eventually)
- Timespinner
- Waking Mars
- Islets
To quickly clarify the hunch: it took us a while to compare exactly how the media response to Saori and GAINAX went down so Hubz was able to quickly scan a bunch of magazines for me so I could figure out the GAINAX/ Game Machine timeline accurately.
Gaming Alexandria has acquired and scanned the entire run of Technopoiis, and I have provided a history overview .Thanks to @playhistory.bsky.social and @marklincadet.bsky.social for editing and factchecking, and for Hubz for putting up with me summarizing many magazines on a hunch.
Thrilled to announce the release of scans for the entire run of Technopolis! Read about the history of this Japanese computer gaming magazine written by @ftb1979.bsky.social and download/view the scans. Enjoy and please RT to help spread the word. www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2025/09/t...
Absolutely stunned by this my condolences to all affected.
This is terrible to hear, SpaceDrake was hugely instrumental in the early days of Japanese PC localization. Rest in peace.
Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.
Oh god I think i have 110 hours i that game @_@
That is fast as lightning but I think its about the prettying up of Gegego no Kitaro characters over time.
Oh damn, this is a big one.
WIP video (mostly finished, just needs citations, credits, and some bits of footage that aren't essential) is currently exporting. Should be up for Patrons in a couple of hours barring issues. At worst it should be there early tomm. morning.

Thanks as always for patience- final will be next week.
You're welcome! I switched back to working on the next video (exporting the WIP version now) but once it comes in I should have another LOGIN 1994 up in a week or two.
