Oh my DOG the pixel crunch! That, I can absolutely agree on. It worked well for some sprite, but they just looked stretched to me sometimes. On emulators, there are built in shader options that make those bits look a LOT nicer by the way.

I wonder if Gamefreak / TPC randomly decided to take say.. the engine from HGSS, and make new content or say, took black and white 2 and made another story within the same engine just to make a BW 3, would people still complain?

But my other problem (If you could call it a problem) is that I heavily preffered the 2D style from Gen 1 to Gen V. That and maybe the whole cutscenes thing? I also wonder if the reason I dislike Gen VII up to now is the amount of handholding and lack of consequences?

My problem is I still to this day can't let go of the little bothersome details of Sword and Shield that just became more apparent in the later games. I remember how much of an uproar there was for certain textures like the low quality trees and reuse of animations from Sun / Moon.
