The UK has long abandoned the death penalty. If Reform were to reverse this, the UK would join the US as the only two Western nations to still use capital punishment.

Only few other democracies retain the death penalty:

I appreciate your thoughts!

I used the current polling averages to make the seat allocation under a proportional system, as well as for the FTPT result (modeled with the Nowcast prediction tool)

Proportional election systems have proven themselves as a tool against radical parties across the globe
As you can see in the chart, Reform and Tories would fall short of a majority under the proportional system

The FPTP system gives Reform a majority with just 29% of the vote
Perhaps it wouldnt work in the UK but one failed coalition doesnt have to mean that

Personally I would love to dee a labor/greens/new democrats coalition one day
That's not necessarily true. Many countried function well with a three or two party coalition

It encourages compromise and stops radical parties, as research has shown.

Yes it can be a headache, but that's democracy
I know and maybe reform will fade away until then

Nevertheless, the current system is soooo unrepresentative
The problem was Joe Biden's late exist

The problem was Fox News

The problem was the refusal to prosecute Trump in 2021

The problem was the Supreme Court

There are a log of reasons for why we are here, but Joe Rogan, Andrew Schultz and Theo Von certainly had an impact as well
