This is not a classical temple but a sewage pumping station in London. A postmodern masterpiece. Even simple buildings can be raised with a little thought. Deserves a watercolour I think. #watercolour #art #london
Atlas House in the Ciry of London. A rare Georgian commercial building. It’s currently being converted to a hotel. Love Watercolouring buildings like this…
A watercolour of the Drayton Court Hotel. This lovely hotel in Ealing was home to the father of modern day Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh worked and lived here in travels which formed his views about communism. Happy Vietnamese woman’s day.
A temporary tower which is stil there. Eiffel’s design proposal stated that the tower would stand for only 20 years. After that, it was expected to be dismantled, as many Parisians and artists at the time disliked its industrial appearance and actually saw it as an eyesore! #watercolour
Chinatown in London. Amazing gate. Something about Asian architecture that is such a joy to paint. The colours and forms seem so balance with human proportions #watercolour
Autumn is here. Love the colour and light at this time of year makes for the best paintings. #watercolour #watercolor
Painting the City of London. You do stumble across ancient churches like this in the City of London. Each has a great back story. Bizarrely the archbishop who built it was executed for being too catholic. #watercolour #london
It may not look it but this beautiful quad and college is the richest in Oxford. It has assets of 800 million. I wonder if they want to buy a watercolour? 😂 St.Johns College Oxford. #watercolour #oxford
Such a shame. I wonder if they will replicate it?
Oxford’s original observatory modelled on the Athenian Tower of Winds. The light pollution means it’s no longer used but there are a few sealed up stairways in the basement. No one knows what’s down there. Makes for a lovely watercolour. #watercolour
Yes it’s due to reopen very soon!
Wadham College watercolour. It was founded by Dorothy Wadham in 1600. She managed the property legally as well but dispite that was not allowed to enter. Statutes prevented women entering the college, except an elderly laundress deemed “above suspicion”! #watercolour #oxford
Watercolour of Englands most beautiful village. Bibury is a small village in Gloucestershire. Bizarrely It attracts thousands of visitors annually from Japan. In 1921 Emperor Hirohito’s stayed and noted it as one of the happiest times in his life. #watercolour
Watercolour of one of my favourite pubs. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. The best part of 500 years old and looking great. A few greats have drunk here like Dickens and a parrot who they have stuffed. When in London a must visit. #watercolour #london
Great pub in Hampstead. You find so many famous people drinking here. Sting, Liam Gallagher and even Dustin Hoffman. Lovely to paint as well (but I didn’t see anyone famous!)
Who else loves cool cafes. They make the best watercolour shopfronts. This one is owned by a magazine in cool London.
Edinburgh. Perhaps the most romantic spot with the best view. The building is dedicated to Dugald Stewart who few people know. He was a philosopher. It’s a hell of a place to ponder the universe and to paint! #watercolour
Perfect. So many literary characters seem to dine here. Howard’s End as well
A painting of a famous London restaurant. Sherlock Holmes himself dines here in “The Adventure of the Dying Detective”.

Simpson’s began as a coffee house and chess club in 1828, gaining fame for both its roast meats and its role in the British chess scene. Now purely food and so good it is.
Still painting the colleges of Oxford and looking for recommendations…
The Victoria Tower is the tallest tower in the Palace of Westminster. Named after Queen Victoria, it was for many years the tallest and largest stone square tower in the world, with a height of 98.5 metres (325 feet). #watercolour #london
Two things I love about Paris. Cafes and big sculptures to look at! #paris #watercolour
Charterhouse London. It’s like a little medieval village inside. If you get a chance go and see! #watercolour #watercolor
44 Berkeley Square in watercolour. Home of the Clermont Set. A dubious bunch including Lord Lucan who murdered his wife and was hidden by members. Military, spies and power brokers all gambled together. Beautiful house though! #watercolour #london
