Hello bugsky! I used to post my bug photos to Instagram and I felt it was about time I remade an account for it on here too, to make it more fun to share what I see and maybe make some friends.

I have plenty of old and new photos to post, always trying to ID what I can so it might be a little slow!
A grasshopper (Caelifera) from my garden a few years ago. Could be Chorthippus brunneus or maybe Chorthippus biguttulus
Love these guys, very stylish.

Suborder: Apocrita
Could I narrow it down further? Yes, will I? No.
To catch up somewhat on my backlog of bug photos I won't spend ages trying to pinpoint the species on every image, IDing this as a cranefly will do just fine.

Diptera, Nematocera, Tipuloidea
I accidentally forgot about this account, whoops. I really hope we get drafts soon so I can prepare posts ahead of time

Pictured: Aglais urticae
I've used two kinds for my phones, one I made myself from an old compact camera (you pick it apart and steal the lens inside) the other is a set with macro, fisheye and a tele lens you screw on a clip-on. Unfortunately I don't know what brand. It was just advertised as phonelens kit at a local store
They're very lovely spiders to spot, I'm sure you'll see plenty more of them if you just have an eye out now that you got a new allotment place.
I just posted a photo of an M. vatia as well and when I took it I did the exact same thing! Stopped to shoot the bee and as I got my camera up I noticed the spider. They have such amazing camouflage!
Another female Thomisidae but this time it's Misumena vatia, the flower crab spider.

It's impressive how big of a prey spiders can catch, this one snatched a bee that's bigger than her!
Sometimes you're just incredibly lucky with being in the right spot at the right time!
Those are some awesomely vivid colours! What a neat millipede
Glad I could help!
Not sure if you've already figured it out but you can! Hold the profile icon in the corner at the bottom and it'll let you switch!
In case it wasn't yours I wanted to make sure you knew someone was stealing your content.
Is this your account?
Images from 2022 of a harlequin lady beetle (Harmonia axyridis), an invasive species over here but still a pretty bug to look at.
What great photos you take! Might I ask what equipment you're using?
I've run into these guys, maybe thrice in my life, and each one has been more than keen to bite at me. Funny little dudes, always great to see one
She's a friend (I promise!)
An ant (presumed Formica sp) spotted during my walk today. Pretty cool creatures to just observe wandering about
Very odd, could be users that just like stuff to chase likes in return and not caring if it's blank, or it's something else I'm too unqualified to understand. I'm using an Android phone for reference in case it has something to do with that. Try reporting the issue to bsky maybe?
It's just a black image for me. Maybe it's a formatting issue, have you tried capturing a screenshot of the image you want to post and see if that works?
Cylindroiulus caeruleocinctus, a millipede in the Julidae family
Ironically, it looks just like a punsch-roll pastry! But then I guess the defence of looking bright and dangerous doesn't really work much on humans anyway, we like the fun colours and shapes.
