I have no idea why hundreds of people follow me, I can only think of a few dozen who have had more than a passing interaction with me. I occasionally reply or post stuff, but really, I expect to be obscure and mostly ignored.

I keep seeing people post about how much they dislike the way people are critical of them on bsky. Uhhh, block them? Block them all and do it quickly and without thinking too much, it makes a much better experience. Nobody has a right to spit in your ear (err, eye?) with vile or cutting remarks.

I know many (including me) who moved to cities, and part of the shock of change is the air, the smells, noise, the number of people and the greatly expanded area you need to put in you mental map of your environment. Maybe just some regular immersive visits would help? People can adapt if willing.

He's confused and looking the wrong way, the West has no interest in seizing Russian natural resources, that's CHINA which is encroaching on your eastern flank and chewing up the forests, etc. And I bet China is just waiting to seize back parts of their old empire from Russia.

If you are of an age where they herded you and other little kids like cattle to get measles vaccinations from some kind of industrial "vax gun" at school, you should consider getting a titers test to see if you still have active anti-bodies. I just did and I'm still good, thank god!

If I recall correctly, Rick Santorum worked his little "Christian" bones off to get the age increased. Yes, I can retire *earlier* but get penalized. My cohort is 66 years and 10 months.

He conveniently fails to mention W and friends "borrowed" $1T+ from SSI. Still waiting for that repayment! 🤨

I have no idea where AI art is going, just like I didn't get sampling back in the 80s. I was a graphic artist back then, and I've played with these image generators to check them out. Ultimately, I got bored because there is a "look" to a lot of it. I think that it might just become a boring look. 🤷

The three biggest autocrats, Xi, Putin, and Trump, have surrounded themselves with yes-men and are driving their economies into the ground because they have self-aggrandizing ideas about extending their power. Things just keep getting worse, and they foolishly push everything toward the edge. 🤷

Which is just to say that billionaires are indeed a problem (and I don't think we should even have billionaires), but they are not the whole of the problems we face. Simplifying things to just billionaires hides systemic problems we are not addressing very well.

And I don't have a silver bullet. 🙊

All US billionaires hold $6T in total. US spends about $5T annually for health care. There 19M college students paying ~$40K = $760B annually. Just those 2 eat about ALL of the $6T. I think their tax rate should be 95% at least, but just taking their wealth solves just 2 problems for 1 year only. 🤷

Yes, edit features are so nice, and the Hometown-based instance I was on for a few years allowed 5K posts. But I was just there and it is like the village in Yojimbo now. I don't miss the dogpiling or the administrative politicking. I still have hopes for the Fediverse, but it isn't very nice now. 🤷
