if you're in engineering or technology you know exactly how true this line rings, like how many times ive heard people in the engineering side of gamedev say they don't want a union bc they get paid well enough and that sounds political and dangerous and trying lol

i used to read science fiction (and other fiction) that considered itself apolitical, more concerned with technology and visions of the stars than the people or politics or cultures involved. flipping this and reading those who understand politics and people has been so much more enriching
