One thing that I find irritating is that the original release had side a, side b, side c and side d on both sleeve and label. The coloured vinyl has a,b,c,d on the sleeves, but 1,2,3,4 on the labels. Consistency people! Where was the quality control?!?

Today’s #VinylFriday is The Two Ring Circus by Erasure on yellow vinyl. This is a collection of remixes and re-recording of tracks from their 1987 album The Circus. I’m always a sucker for alternative versions, so I’ve been a fan of this since the original release. Note the brand new cart/stylus!

Today’s #VinylFriday is The Two Ring Circus by Erasure on yellow vinyl. This is a collection of remixes and re-recording of tracks from their 1987 album The Circus. I’m always a sucker for alternative versions, so I’ve been a fan of this since the original release. Note the brand new cart/stylus!
I’ve replaced the catridge and stylus on my record player. Feeling a bit paranoid I tested it on a record I wouldn’t be sad if it got damaged. I could hear every click on Johnny Hates Jazz, but no distortion, so I think that’s a win…

New Years Day dinner. Butterflied leg of lamb with garlic, bayleaves and balsamic (from @nigella.bsky.social’s Nigelissima), with new potatoes and sprouting broccoli. Happy New Year all!

We’ve decanted this year’s crab apple vodka. In the bottle it looks not unlike Iron Bru, but it has an intense appley-ness.

We don’t use the fire pit as much as we should in the winter, it’s normally too wet, but tonight is clear and crisp. Glögg and marshmallows are the order of the evening rather than slumping in front of the TV…

I think I haven’t seen a single title by a recently dropped children’s ‘author’ in any of the indie book shops we’ve been into over the festive period. I think that counts as a win for the improvement of children’s books…

Is it really arsey to complain that the edition of a book that’s been sent is not the one I ordered or paid more for? Just opened the parcel that arrived a couple of weeks ago to wrap and it’s the right book, but not the more expensive version I ordered…
