Hi Bluesky! It's good to be here!

I'm Alex! I'm doing graphics programming on the Frostbite Engine for Electronic Arts!

I've been part of the Australian game development scene for most of my career but I'm moving to Stockholm, Sweden from January! Looking forward to making new European friends! 💙

This is incredibly cool. Wipeout on the Mega Drive!
I reworked the camera, improved clipping and rewrote the physics with acceleration and drift, the feel is better now

Today I noticed the Apple Music version of a bunch of Radiohead albums has much better dynamic range than my lossless CD tracks! Nice to see!

there's two types of photography perverts: the type who wants swirly bokeh and soft portraits and buys a Leica lens for the price of a new luxury sedan, and the type who wants swirly bokeh and soft portraits who buys a lens from the Soviet Union called Glory To The Industrial Worker 57 for $40

I can't get over all the cute little houses you find over here. They look straight out of a videogame or fairytale. No wonder Miyazaki used this town as a reference!

I wrote this post about the illusion that indie is a 'superior development style' about a week ago and waffled on whether or not it was still relevant enough to post. Aftermath putting up a podcast on the same topic today convinced me to finally shove it out the door.

Went for some multipitch trad climbing at Mt Arapiles this weekend. I'm going to miss that perfect Australian rock!

The two climbs we did are getting banned in March so it really was now or never. 😢
