Here's a nice article summarizing work of Dr. Alireza Chamanzar, a postdoc in the ∀ Lab, on detecting spreading depolarizations in TBI patients. This is amazing. researchers believed non-invasive detection of these waves was impossible! Congratulations Alireza!!

🗣️Work on detecting brain tsunamis appeared in Nature Communication Medicine! Led by Dr. Alireza Chamanzar, it's a first demonstration that these waves (aka called cortical spreading depolarizations) can be detected noninvasively.
