If you follow me, this is what you'll find:

• TTRPG agnosticism; they're neat and I don't have much experience with them
• mental health updates
• werewolves
• movie discussion; I love horror movies
• occasional art by me

I wonder if this is the fabled scarecrow movie Katie from @werewolfambulance.bsky.social has been trying to remember.
That explains the Linnea Quigley connection (IYKYK).

kid 2: … They do now!

3 things I learned from #TheHowling:

1. Monsters don’t like you sneaking around their office.
2. Newscasters should know you can’t do that on TV.
3. If it looks like a cult, sounds like a cult, and includes sex under a full moon, it's a werewolf cult.

Cubes are generally more appetizing than spheres, which are only palatable once they’ve been split into hemispheres. These cubes, in particular, look delicious.
Are you saying not everyone went through a pirate/tall ship phase (possibly never really left it)?
It's so weird almost physically feeling the silence when I don't know what to say to keep a conversation moving forward. A book I read suggested to embrace going for the deep, if awkward, questions an topics. Yet, I somehow think a work event is not the best place for it.

I survived the socializing. It was loud and difficult to focus on the conversations I was having. There was, however, free food.
About an hour until forced socializing with my department. At least I'm in a place where I won't have any surges of panic and it's during regular business hours so I can go directly home when I'm done.

#WerewolfWednesday, but it's an anti-AI propaganda.

I don't wanna work the rest of the afternoon. There're books to be read, a slime monster to draw, and now fauns slowly populating the margins of my notebook.
It's why I keep saying the true war on Xmas is primarily defensive. It's that or people need to stop looking at us like we're weird when we bring back the scarier holiday traditions associated with Xmas.
An enrichment pumpkin every so often would be nice. I'll even pose for photos while wearing the shell like a chewed up helmet.
A werewolf needs perfect hair to drink a piña colada at Trader Vic's.

Another wonderful 1970s (we think) Pete Hawley Halloween stand-up. A well dressed werewolf! Check out his hair! This piece is part of a set. #WerewolfWednesday
Now watching Attack of the Giant Leeches. Do 50s movie cops not understand trigger safety?
Creature is a solid movie with passable acting and fun practical effects. The creature looks like a slight downgrade of an omega metroid, and is still impressive for the time and budget.
I just started Creature (1985) and am getting strong Alien vibes from it. Not that it's a bad thing, but it just feels familiar and lower budget; they use blaster sounds and engines from Star Wars and I'm pretty sure the spacesuits are from 2001.
One of my favorite things about Creature so far is we aren't playing Extreme Idiot Ball. Are there questionable decisions? Yes, and because they're the least bad of a bad lot. No one's looking at an obvious corpse and saying "Yeah, I'll let my zombie fiancé on the ship."
Practical effects are fun and melty. Anyone taken over by this critter begins a slow body melt that results in gorgeous face-sloughing terror.
So this is more like The Thing meets Alien and kind of sets the groundwork for Alien: Earth (only without the barely touched themes of taking advantage of disadvantaged people and children).
