Do you guys have favorite nonstandard common names for plants. I was taught bitternut hickory was mustard-bud hickory and I'm attached to that. My coworkers call cutleaf coneflower "goldenglow" but I think "sochan" there is also very cute

My new bit is going to be insisting on talking about the minecraft movie with people but as if I was totally unfamiliar with any of the video game stylistic elements and interpreting them as if they were really unpleasant and avant garde decisions by the filmmmakers. "i just didn't get it".

I hate trimming these of course. Even on a thornless variety 1 in a 100 branches will randomly grow thorns and will shank you through your glove. I'm thankful I've never had a reaction to one, I hear that some people get really terrible swelling
In one of the remote sites at work someone has been dumping tons of yard waste and I just realized that after my coworkers cleaned it up they laid down a bunch of super thorny honey locust logs in the area lol. Organic caltrops
