We should find him. I don't think he's in the Dragonpit. We could ask one of the other dragons to take us to Balerion.

It could be that. They do say that Targaryens are closer to gods than men. Though sometimes I find myself wondering how that started. I may need to study the histories. I prefer to be carefree but if studying helps me understand things like this, I will do so. It may help me get another rider too.
