Okay,okay, not end of day but end of weekend. I carved them that day but then let clay distract me from my social media duties. Still working on Fire and Earth, mugs this time. I try to group all my black clay pieces into one chunk of a few weeks right before I clean my wheel and studio. #pottery

Fuck it, hot chocolate time! Using this really cool mug I got at the Renn faire from @fivegoblinspottery.bsky.social that’s based on historical mug designs! Ceramics in archaeology are so fun, pottery that’s used and loved by people during their everyday lives, and we can do the same!

I raku'ed!!

Every time I decide to quit this runny drippy mess of a layering glaze the kiln spits out one of these and I take it back. It's a toxic relationship but the highs are so good.

Bluesky #pottery peeps I need your help! I am doing my first #raku firing workshop 8/3. I have to get 10 pieces made and bisqued before then, bonus difficulty points for trying to get restocked for my next show at the same time. What are good forms for novice raku? Tips? Tricks? Pic For Algo.

I have my own studio, but I still am a member of my local community studio. Every so often, someone donates buckets of mystery glaze to the studio. This gorgeous purple was marked "pink", so this was a wonderful kiln surprise.

Advancer kiln shelves and a diamond grinding disc saved this mug. I am so fortunate to have loved ones and patrons who helped me get my Advancers. Corderite shelves, even with kiln wash, would have fused with the mug and cracked the bottom.

Hooking a clay 3D printer to ChatGPT feels like a masterclass in "AI doesn't understand physics" so at least it will be cost ineffective to try and print stolen work. They'll have to keep stealing from us via good old slipcasting instead. 🙃

The rat tracks mug is out!

I had pet rats for around 6 years and they make the best pets. Smart, loving, trainable. Only flaw is that they only live for 2-3 years. This little rat is painted as a hooded rat in honor of one of my girls past.
