Watching Yesavage’s parents is turning me into a ball of mush… #proudparents #bluejays
I don’t cheer for either of these teams, but if that wasn’t a penalty, they might as well not call anything for the rest of the playoffs. (TBvsFLA)
Kiddo had a big weekend. Took her first 1st All Around trophy and registered for high school.
We had the week off last week. I don’t always get time of personal reading (usually it is professional reading) during school time, but I did a fair bit of fun reading during the break.
Totally digging the NOLA vibe of the opening ceremonies of the big game. Would love to visit some day…
I said no more books for my classroom library, but when you are given gift cards by students…
We are doing our plant unit in science. We are learning different ways we use plants. Today we made paints with different fruits and vegetables. It was a fun experiment. We used coffee, paprika, mangoes, blueberries, spinach, carrots and strawberries. What do you think worked best?
My 2024 Reading Wrap-up…
My Christmas t-shirt…
People really are at the heart of everything we do. Today was the last day after four months with our interns. I was a mess all day. We are lucky to have them join our profession.
What an absolutely amazing experience this would have been!
Loved the ALAN reception today. Brian Selznick and I presented together 6 times during the Author Speed Dating event, which was a lot of fun! Thank you, ALAN!
It is such an easy way to communicate any special events in our classrooms, club/team events, field trips, etc. As an intervention teacher, I love knowing when my groups will be interrupted by special events so I can plan around them. Our office manager can answer parent calls about events.
We get a weekly update each week. It includes detailed daily info for the coming week and any known dates from now until the end of the year in point form. We usually get it by end of day Friday. We can also add our info to it as well as it is a collaborative document.
Not exclusively a firstie, but I do work with 1-4… I love my littles!
We would like to have a parent literacy night. We would like to teach generic/adaptable activities that any parent can do with what they have at home or simple things we could send. Anyone have any suggestions?
