I have two views on this:

1. They’re overcompensating.
2. Their daddies never loved them.

(for many, both 🫤)
This system can’t go in like this, I don’t think.
I am mission complete for this school year (34 recs! 😉), but towards the end I really considered adding: “I wrote this whole thing; zero AI,” right below my signature.🤔
There are still ppl of character serving. But it seems fewer every day.🫤
Standing on the sidelines, shaking my head.

This is looking to be about the biggest pump-and-dump ever, almost entirely driven by hype and FOMO.

(need to check my 401k so they’re not betting the farm on this 🤔)

Very timely selection considering the impending expiration of SNAP.🫤
“I was just following orders” sure didn’t work as a defense at Nuremberg.🫤
My first school used PBIS. Yikes!😳

I made it three years, but I think PBIS is mostly hype, and what Modesto schools are seeing probably isn’t too surprising for any school using PBIS.

Concur.

The mindless pursuit of a high gpa has caused a disconnect to holding students accountable.

I’ve had students tell me - absolutely seriously - “I don’t care if I learn anything or not as long as I get an A.”🫤
Exhibit A on why my lab reports are now submitted electronically on our SMS.

A couple of years ago, I’d have students try to shove them in my hands as we passed in the hall.🫤
Mr. Smith’s research / writing is a real gift.😎
Not to be pedantic, but Bruno wasn’t burned at the stake for his writings on other worlds.

He was executed for several heresies - to include pantheism.

Writers: let’s stop being so lazy.

We had a PD at the start of this school year on AI where I noted that it’s looking like we’ll soon have AI make college selections based on AI-generated applications / recommendations.

Holy moly.🫤
...or even think about.

I think there's great goodness in being able to reflect throughout one's life on what was read / discussed in HS - I know that I still do, and I graduated almost 50 years ago.

I know (pretty sure, anyway) that I have more empathy based on what I read in HS.

Peace!

Because it makes us better people in the long run.

Sure, can't put a value on reading literature in high school in terms of a dollar value over a lifetime, but I think there's an important intangible value to having looked at a situation from a perspective one wouldn't normally encounter...

It has been a minute since I've travelled through PA, but I think it's likely you'll also find a "clean coal" billboard close by. 😏
